Speak to our experts

  • Is intumescent paint waterproof?
Intumescent paint isn't waterproof. In fact, paints which are suitable for external application require additional topcoat to protect them from the elements. Otherwise, it will get damaged and not perform properly. Two coats of Excel white topcoat - applied at 10sqm per litre per coat - should be applied to ES/VFR white to increase its lifespan and protect it. This is available to purchase on our website.
