Quelstop HPE Sealant by Quelfire – QHPE

Quelfire’s HPE Sealant is made from a high expansion acrylic based graphite.

It is designed to be used on walls and floors which have been penetrated by service, in order to provide a fire rated linear joint or gap seal. When used appropriately, this intumescent sealant ensures the fire rating of the wall or floor is maintained.

Uses:

This product can be used in the following constructions:

• Flexible walls
• Rigid walls
• Floors

It can also be used in Quelfire’s Fire Batts.

In terms of cabling, it is suitable around cables, cable bunches, cable trays and cable ladders.

For piping systems, it can be used around plastic pipes, metallic pipes and insulated non-combustible pipes.

Linear joints under 20mm wide and low movement joints of ≤7.5% can be sealed with this product.

Installation:

Remove any dirt, grease or other contamination, including that which would break the sealant’s bonds.

Ensure the ambient temperature is between +5ºC and +40ºC.

Using a standard sealant gun, apply the sealant to the correct annulus and depth. This is dependant upon the penetrating services / material specification. All of the annual space must be filled with compacted Quelstop HPE Sealant. To tidy up the finish of the sealant, lightly compact it and use a spatula to smooth it off.
