QuelStop Intumescent Acrylic Mastic- QSS
Uses:
Quelfire’s Intumescent Acrylic Mastic is for sealing linear and gaps. It should also be used to fire seal service penetrations in walls and floors, either in conjunction with the Quelstop Fire Batt, or direct to the substrate.
This fire rated sealant can be used around cables, cable bunches, cable trays, cable ladders and non-combustible pipes.
Its application areas are: flexible walls, rigid walls and floors
It can be used on linear joints in concrete to concrete/steel/softwood that are at up to 50mm wide.
For linear joints with gypsum board/steel headtrack, they must be up to 20mm.
As it remains flexible, it is suitable for low movement joints. Maximum movement capability is ≤7.5%
Can be used around wooden fire door frames.

Classified to EN 13501-2: 2007 + A1: 2009
It can achieve up to a 4 hour fire rating (EI240).
It carries a CE Mark.

Standard colour is white.
One box of mastic contains 25 x 310ml cartridges. It can also be ordered in 600ml foils (15 per box). Please contact us on 01752 690997 if this is of interest.
Tack Free: 30 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. This time is affected by lower and higher temperatures, as well as different humidity levels.
Slump: 5mm after 1hour in 30mm joints
Shrinkage: Approximately 12%
Cure Rate: 3mm per day at 50% relative 23°C
Specific Gravity: 1.56 – 1.66 g/cm3
Application Instructions
Preparation:
Ensure that the substrate is clean. Any bond breaking contamination must be removed.
Application:
Please apply this product at +5°C to +40°C
When using it as part of the Fire Batt system, apply it to all of the fire batt’s cuts, joints and exposed edges.
To make sure that the sealant is applied to the appropriate depth in linear joint applications, mineral wool or PE backing rod should be used as backing material.
