Fire Protection Compound by Quelfire – QF2
Quelfire’s QF2 Fire Protection Compound is a fire resistant mortar that should be used to fill gaps as part of the QuelStop Firestopping system.
It forms a rigid seal by expanding by 0.1% during the curing process. It can also be used in load-bearing situations.
You can install further penetrating services after it has been installed without damaging the barrier.
QF2 Fire Protection Compound is to be applied to walls and floors.
Product testing
Tested to BS 476-20-1987 and BS EN1366-3-2009
It can achieve up to 4 hours fire protection

Key product information
This non-combustible material is composed of lightweight graded fire resisting aggregates, in organic binders and various gypsum cements.
These materials not only provide excellent fire protection, but also make the compound strong and versatile.
Mix the product on site with water. We recommend using a power mixer and adding the compound gradually to water, until it is the correct consistency.

Use the wet mortar within 45-60 minutes. This depends on batch size, water content and temperature.

4 x 20kg sacks of this product are needed per square metre, to achieve a 100mm thickness.
Storage
As this product reacts to water, it must be stored in dry conditions.
Unopened bags have a shelf life of approximately 12 months.

QF2 Fire Protection Compound contains gypsum plaster and natural, or heat processed aggregates. Appropriate protective clothing, including gloves, dust mask, safety glasses, should be worn, especially during mixing, to guard against dust inhalation, eye damage and skin irritation.
Installation Overview
This product can be used as part of the Quelstop system, in tandem with other Quelfire products such as QWR fire collars, the Quelcoil and other Intuwraps, etc.
