Intumescent Coating Kits to upgrade raised and fielded doors to fire-rated doors.
Minimum requirements for the door:
Rails/Styles thickness = 32mm
Panel thickness = 10mm
If your door is less that the requirements above then you need to use the Intumescent door upgrade kit DK1
Intumescent door upgrade kit designed for upgrading Victorian/Georgian/Edwardian doors to 30 minutes fire doors. This is a clear or white intumescent coating system for upgrading doors and paneling to fire door status. Materials contained in each kit are enough to cover an area of 6m² (according to the size of the door, enough material to cover three to four sides of single doors). Only the risk side needs to be coated on room doors and both sides on doors leading onto corridors or at the top of stairs.
There is no need to remove any existing paints, varnish or gold leaf; this product can be applied directly over all previous coatings after normal surface washing. Fire tests have been carried out on specific panels and doors.
Available in clear or white as standard, with a range of finishes.
Because the coatings must be applied in a specific way in order to achieve the required fire ratings, please ensure you read the application data supplied with the kit before using. Here, in-depth Application Instructions for the range can be found, including the recommended loading rate. The Technical Information summarises the recommended usage of the coatings and contents of the kits. COSHH data is also available on request.
