Envirograf Fire and Smoke Stop Pillows

Envirograf’s intumescent fire and smoke stop pillows are filled with pieces of fireproof sponge and Envirograf® intumescent material.

They can be wrapped around services and used to fill areas which are difficult to seal otherwise, because they are both soft and pliable.

These fire pillows expand to 3 times their size in a fire, to provide a barrier to fire and smoke.

They are not pressurised, so they will not push each other out, they will just lock together.

Can be used in computer rooms and sterile areas, as a permanent protection system or temporary, whilst work is being carried out.

They are highly versatile as they can be compressed and fitted into awkward gaps.

They provide up to 2 hours fire resistance

Because they are adjustable, they are great for fitting around cables which regularly need adjusting.

Application Instructions:

Fold the fire pillows between pipes and services.

In vertical openings, such as walls, arrange the pillows in rows and in a staggered vertical formation. Ensure all of the pillows are compressed to fill all of the gaps.

In horizontal openings, such as floors, arrange the pillows in rows, in a staggered formation.

Please note that any horizontal openings that are greater than 700mm x 400mm, fix wire mesh into the opening beforehand, so as to prevent sagging.

Specific product materials:

The Envirograf Fire and Smoke Pillows’ intumescent material is made from:

• Mineral Wool Fibre 20-70% by weight
• Exfoliating Graphite 20-60% by weight
• Organic Binder (including adhesive coating) 5.0-30% by weight

Fire testing

Tested to BS476 Part 22 (1987), achieving 181 minutes integrity.

Tested at VNE to European Standard EN1363-1 (2000), achieving 2 hours fire protection.
